Sodium Carboxy Methyl Cellulose (CMC)for Building Material

Construction Grade

Sodium Carboxy Methyl Cellulose (CMC), also known as cellulose gum or Tylose, is a highly effective additive for improving product and processing characteristics in various fields of application. It functions as a thickener, water retainer, emulsifier, stabilizer, protective colloid, suspending agent, gelling agent, and flow control agent. It is also used as film-forming and binding agent. CMC is widely used in the food, personal care products, industrial paints, ceramics, oil drilling, building materials and etc.

CMC is an important ionic water-soluble cellulose ether. It can be used as retarder, water retention agent, thickener and binder in building materials to improve water retention and strength. It can be used for plastering plaster, waterproof putty, bonding plaster and caulking plaster, significantly improving its water retention and bonding strength. It also has good miscibility and no cracking。The addition of CMC to concrete can increase the water retention, cohesion and uniformity of concrete, play a delaying role, and increase durability. CMC is used in wall putty powder; used in the manufacture of barricades; plasticizer is used in mortar masonry materials and wall surface treatment, especially the work of mortar, the crack resistance and durability are greatly improved.
